Sample Boundary Survey with GPS Coordinates
This is an example of a survey which integrates GPS coordinates into the typical boundary survey. This survey was a boundary survey for a billboard on a small piece of property. As you can see, this survey also lists GPS coordinates for the sign pole and the south two boundary corners. In this case, the coordinate information was required by the Pasco County building and zoning departments. The relevant data was entered into the Pasco County GIS system to keep track of new billboard development. This type of survey is typically required when the information needs to be inserted into a county GIS system or when the new data needs to be on the same coordinate system (datum) as previous data. Some applications include land platting, commercial surveys, sectionalized land, and ground/aerial hybrid surveys.
